Amalgam fillings are composed of mercury, a highly controversial material. Studies continue to be completed surrounding the effects of mercury on the human body. Only time will tell us definitively whether the mercury in amalgam fillings is harmful, but we have proactively made the decision to be an amalgam free practice.
